Art Program
![]() The art program in Harford County Public Schools is discipline based. Every art lesson has four components: history, production, aesthetics and criticism. The projects are based on famous artists or other cultures (history) and are designed to teach techniques and media(production). The children learn the elements (line, shape, color, texture, value, form) and principles (balance, space, rhythm) of design through application (aesthetics.) They make judgments about art through their own choices, and comparisons of other pieces of art. (criticism) At North Bend, every completed project is displayed in the building and from these displays, representative pieces are chosen for two school-wide exhibits in December and May. Outstanding pieces are also chosen to represent North Bend at county-wide exhibits and state exhibits. Check out Zach's other designs at his portfolio |
