In fourth grade at North Bend Elementary School, the teachers are working to develop the habits and skills necessary for success in secondary education and life after school. We strive to create independent learners, capable of developing goals and a structure to accomplish those goals. During this year, the transition is made from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". Although we still work to develop reading skills and strategies,, an increasing emphasis is put on our study of Maryland, our science activities, and other content areas. It is our hope that students leave fourth grade with the tools necessary to enjoy a life-long love of learning.
It is our hope that the links we have provided will be used both at school and at home to enhance your child's experience in fourth grade. As always, it is advisable for adults to be present when children are using the Internet. These links have been reviewed and the content found acceptable, but we cannot guarantee that a site has not changed or that pop-up ads will not be added.
