Although safety is not taught as a separate subject, it will be included in the instruction of each activity. The importance of safety procedures must first be recognized by the teacher, who in turn, through instruction, demonstration, and practice will develop in children proper attitudes, concepts, and general knowledge concerning safety. Dress All students are required to dress appropriately for safe participation. Skirts and dresses are not functional. Pupils should wear standard laced tennis shoes for general participation in class. Jewelry Policy No jewelry is to be worn during P.E. class. Jewelry must be removed before coming to class. PE teachers will not be responsible for lost items. Medical excuses A written excuse from a doctor will be honored. A parent's written excuse will be honored for a short time frame, if the child will be out for more than two classes a doctors note is encouraged. Rules
