Teacher Resources Graphic Organizer Sites Graphic.org - Greg Freeman’s Graphic Organizer Site – This site features the use of Inspiration and Kidspiration in creating Graphic Organizers. Samples of use, pointers, explanation, electronic use, many other links make this an excellent source of information on graphic organizers. Here is the link to the index of ready-to-use graphic organizers. Graphic Organizers - The Education Place, eduplace.com, has a wonderful list of graphic organizers in PDF files. Just click on any that sound applicable to open a printable document for your students. Some examples that are readily available are the fact and opinion chart, the 5 W’s, an Observation Chart, and the Garden Gate. Check them out! Education Helper Organizers - EdHelper has a page of small graphic organizers that you can click to access the full size version. These are well designed and the editors also take suggestions. If you don’t see what you want, they will create it for you! Coat of Arms, Main Idea Mountain, sequencing charts... You will find it all here in an easy-to-access format. SCORE Organizers - SCORE stands for Schools of California Online Resources for Excellence. Their graphic organizer page has several interesting examples such as the Fishbone, Family Tree and Sequence Map. There are also links on this page for Rubrics and other teaching materials. Enchanted Learning Organizers - This site is a great place to get a quick graphic organizer. The Enchanted Learning home page is linked to the NBES home page, and don't forget, we own a membership to the site! General Resources Mouseclicks - This site is maintained by Janey Mayo and Nina Ingraham of the HCPS Tech Dept. The Teacher Links section has dozens of great websites listed and linked. Education World - Everything education that you can imagine; lesson plans, curricular resources, news, etc. Leila's Links - Links for everything in education. General sites and lots of math sites. Nice way to spend an hour just checking things out! Eductaion World Teacher Templates And Tools - Use this wonderful website to find many technology documents and templates. Save time in the classroom with these pre-made certificates, signs and activities for students. The baseball card template is just one of several icebreaker and "getting-to-know-you" activities on this site. Educast - Educast is a free software program that delivers up-to-the-minute education news, Internet resources, and lesson plans directly to your computer. The Gateway To Educational Materials - Search from thousands of lesson plans including the AskERIC Lesson Plan Collection. Classroom Connect - Weekly curriculum including teacher resources, student activities, internet resources, etc. Zoom School - An on-line elementary school classroom with lessons in geography, biology, language arts, and early childhood activities. Houghton Mifflin Education Place - Elementary resources for teachers, students, and parents. Includes Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies Centers, activity database, educational games, and textbook support. ProTeacher - A web directory for elementary school teachers and parents. Early childhood, elementary and middle school lesson plans, activities and resources on the internet for the classroom teacher. Kathy Schrock's Guide For Educators - A categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. Blue Web'N - A searchable database of over 1000 outstanding Internet learning sites categorized by subject area, audience, and type (lessons, activities, projects, resources, references, & tools). The BBC Education Web Guide - A searchable directory of over 3000 of the best websites for learning, selected and reviewed by subject specialists. Lesson Plans Page - A searchable directory for Lesson Plans. Rubistar - An online Rubric creator. I.L.A. Internet Resources The Alphabet Superhighway - A place where students can improve their writing and information representation skills through writing for the Cyberzine and building exhibits. Also is a resource for curriculum and for student research. Scholastic - Many teacher and student resources - search for books, authors, curricular information. Puzzlemaker - Use vocabulary to make many different types of puzzles. Inkspot - Discussions and articles for teachers of writing. A place where students can publish writing. Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site - This is a collection of reviews of great books for kids, ideas of ways to use them in the classroom and collections of books and activities about particular subjects, curriculum areas, themes and professional topics. CyberGuides - Lesson plans for trade books. Read Write Think - A wonderful all inclusive website including many interactive activities with well-written lesson plans included. Science Internet Resources Science Links From Loyola College - The following is a list of sites that might be of interest to elementary science teachers. The Explorer - A collection of educational resources (instructional software, lab activities, lesson plans, student created materials...) for K-12 mathematics and science education. ThinkQuest - A database of online projects, designed and submitted by students. WebQuest - Background information, articles, and templates on developing WebQuests. Also includes a directory of WebQuests. Using Technology In The Classroom WebTeacher - E-mail, video conferencing, chat rooms, Web page design, Internet safety, curriculum searches - you choose the topic you want to explore, you choose your own pace, you choose the depth of knowledge you desire, and WebTeacher guides you through the information. Teaching From The Internet-Lessons From The Classroom - This site features the book that Janet and Barb received in a recent inservice. A great place to start to search for sites.
